2019 Fishing for Freedom Event

Friday May 31st, 2019 -- Meet and Greet
Grilled Pork Loins / Fried Chicken Dinner - Trapshooting - Archery Range at Eagles Club at 3737 North 5th Street, Quincy, Illinois
from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Please bring your own bow and arrows; we will provide guns and ammon for the trap shoot

Concert to follow the Meet and Greet. Location and Time to still be determined.

This year the Grilled Pork Loin and Fried Chicken Dinner will be held at the Eagles Club in Quincy. There is an archery range there. You will sign up for the trap shoot there and we will have a shuttle available to take those that want to shoot to the gun range.

This is open to all warriors, all boaters and all families.

Saturday June 1st, 2019 --

Morning 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 (noon).
at Clat Adams Bicentennial Park
at 134 South Front Street, Quincy, Illinois.

Veterans home tournament for the veterans home residents from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Tournament Rules Meeting at 4:00 p.m. and
Heroes Banquet starting at 5:00 p.m.
with the Opening Ceremony
at Oakley Lindsey Center (Quincy Civic Center)
at 300 Civic Center Plaza, Quincy, Illinois
with dinner being served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Dinner is followed by raffles and the Auction.

Sunday June 2nd, 2019 --

Tournament, weigh in and awards ceremony

Fishing begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at noon.
Clat Adams Park from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Weigh - In Starts at 12:00 Noon
Weigh In Locations will be Mark Twain Lake, Ramp 107, Reregulation Pool Spillway Ramp, Great River Marina in Hamilton, Illinois for Pool 19 and Clat Adams Park Quincy

This year's event will be operated out of Quincy Illinois which is located right on the banks of the Mississippi River in West Central Illinois.

Lodging Information

For our warrior participants, their lodging requirements will be paid for in full by the Fishing for Freedom sponsors and donors. The Fishing for Freedom lodging Point of Contact (POC) will contact them with their lodging information at least one week prior to the event as we will fill rooms based on the information that the warriors have provided during the registration process. If you have any special needs or accessibility issues, please make sure to make a note of it in the comments block on the registration form. There will be several accessible rooms available.

We ask that you utilize double occupancy in all rooms
unless your medical needs prevent double occupancy.

If your plans change and you are later unable to attend after making your reservation, please contact us to cancel out your reservation.

Lodging is available for boaters that live over an hour away from Quincy, Illinois or Mark Twain Lake area at several locations in Quincy Illinois. Some of the locations are within a block from the Mississippi River. You will receive contact information from the registration committee on which hotels that we have a block of rooms saved for the event. If you choose to stay in any other hotels or accommodations, you will be responsible for the expenses. You should contact the hotels/motels that are listed on our Lodging Information Sheet and identify yourself as a "Fishing for Freedom" participant in order to get into the designated rooms that have been set aside for this event. Volunteer boaters are responsible for their lodging expenses and making their individual reservations.
